Local Priorities Drug dealing/ drug use Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Yesterday officers from the Camden Town Centre Team were on patrol on Gloucester Crescent when they came across a male known for drug dealing asleep in his car. He was stopped and ultimately searched in relation to possession of drugs and was found in possession Cannabis for which he has been reported to go to court.

While carrying out their enquires the officers found that he was disqualified from driving and pointed this out to him, he replied that they hadn't seen him driving, just sleeping in the drivers seat so they couldn't do anything about it.

However through the wonders of modern technology officers were able to check CCTV at the scene and find footage of him driving the car earlier in the day, he admitted this when challenged and so has had a charge of driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance added to the drugs possession.
