Heroin and crack seized as two men arrested |
||
We have seized heroin and crack cocaine after arresting two men in Burton-on-Trent.
Officers from our major and organised crime proactive team spotted a suspicious car in the area at about 2.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 24 September). When we stopped the car, two people from inside tried to run off but were not successful.
We searched one of their bags and found £580. Wraps of crack cocaine were found in the footwell of the car, along with a package with around 82 wraps of crack and heroin.
A 44-year-old man, from Burton-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
Another man, aged 18, from Birmingham, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A and criminal damage.
Both are still in custody.
We’re working proactively to act against those responsible for high harm offences and organised crime in local communities across Staffordshire.
Between July 2024 and July this year, we have arrested more than 400 people linked to these offences, and more will be coming as we continue to act against those involved. | ||
