Good news In the last week, we have achieved an amazing seven arrests. Last Monday we had three in one day. This included a high-risk domestic abuse offender for breaching his court bail conditions, a male for rape, and a male who failed to attend court in Coventry for a drink driving offence. On Friday, eagle-eyed officers spotted a male wanted for two shop thefts in Smiths Wood. He has been charged and will appear in court next month. And again, on Sunday we had three more arrests. The first was a male for a domestic related Harassment. A male wanted for failing to attend an initial assessment, which he was required to attend following testing positive for class A drugs, was located outside Morrissons in castle Bromwich. Finally, following a call from Tesco in Castle Bromwich, we found a male wanted for 15 shop thefts, a serious assault on a police officer and a recall to prison. He decided to run from officers, including hopping fences into gardens in Castle Bromwich, but luckily officers were quicker and captured him.
In addition to the arrests, we attended the Emergency Services Show 2025 at the NEC. We were proud representatives of West Midlands Police, met colleagues and dogs from numerous forces and spoke with suppliers, charities and other organisations about their role in benefitting in policing. This was in addition to assisting our Project Servator trained colleagues in keeping all attendees safe.
We have also issued three Community Protection Warnings to individuals who have been reported for causing nuisance behaviour by begging and shoplifting. We have provided strict conditions, which if breached a formal notice will be provided making the behaviour a criminal offence. This can lead to fines of up to £2500.00 and a court order that is deemed appropriate to make the behaviour stop. On Sunday we had our very first Speed Watch on the Water Orton Road with our local Castle Bromwich resident volunteers. We will be looking to move this around various locations in the Castle Bromwich Area over the up-and-coming months.
