Off road bike/escooter/electric bike nuisance |
||
Hartlepool Police take Off-road bikes/e-scooter and electric bike nuisance very seriously. We know that this directly affects law abiding citizens daily. They are often ridden dangerously and also in an intimidating manner which can be worrying for members of the public on roads and pavements. Hartlepool Police and the neighbourhood team continue to try and combat this trend with robust action when riders are identified and we seize the bikes/scooters when stopped. If you know anyone that stores or rides these then please contact Julie.DOBSON2@cleveland.police.uk Alternatively you can contact 101 or crime stoppers on 0800 555111. We currently have upcoming operation days targeting this activity also.
BE INFORMED THIS CHRISTMAS We know that a lot of young people may ask for these scooters/bikes for Christmas and parents or santa may innocently grant the request. I have attached a leaflet which provides a parents guide to e-scooters The message though is simple, e-scooters CAN NOT be used on a PUBLIC ROAD and CAN BE SEIZED by police. Please also look at off-road bike laws and E-bike laws.
