Elmdon Park Street Watch

Good morning Elmdon,

I am aware of some recent issues that Elmdon Park has been experiencing. I was at the Park on both Monday and yesterday, I have spoken before about a streetwatch and am now actively recruiting for members. 

I understand a lot of you are upset and want more patrols, there are two ways to achieve this. The first is becoming part of Street Watch, this is a local group that patrol the area in high vis gear, sometimes with myself or another member of police staff. It is a non confrontational role and we only ask for 2 hours a month. It will run alongside the Damson Woods watch and be run by their organiser. 

This is a great opportunity to get out and help us make the area safer, it is also a great way to meet people and get your steps in or even take the dog out.

I will then reach out to all volunteers to get this started. Please also forward this on to any friends that might be interested.

The other way to increase patrols is to prove, “statistically”, that there is an issue. Therefore I would please urge people to report all incidents at the park. This includes all incidents of theft, assault, anti social behaviour, off road bikers and any other issues that have happened to you. I will then be able to use these reports to apply for the park to be placed onto regular targeted guardian patrols. I will only get this if I have police reports to warrant head office authorising it.
