Last week whilst on foot patrol, Safer Neighbourhood Officers from Harringay Ward came across a male who they believed may be wanted. Subsequent checks showed that he was indeed wanted, twice for Failure to Appear at court in 2023 and for Recall to Prison. This male was then arrested by the Officers and later returned to prison.
As a result of the pro-active patrols by the Harringay Neighbourhood officers a persistent offender has now been taken off the streets. They have also resulted, over the previous weeks, in the seizure of numerous weapons and drugs that have been found during area searches.
Safer Neighbourhood Officers are continually conducting both high visibility and plain clothes patrols on their wards in order to detect and deter crime as well as provide reassurance to residents.
