Five Arrests in Seven Days and Strong Community Engagement

Our local policing team has had a busy and productive week, securing five arrests within seven days as part of our ongoing commitment to tackling crime and keeping the community safe.

One arrest was made for a breach of tag conditions following a domestic non-fatal strangulation case.

Another individual was detained on an immigration warrant, having also committed multiple breaches of a community protection order.

A third arrest was secured after a suspect failed to provide details, contrary to Section 50 of the Police Reform Act.

Officers carried out a recall to prison for a person failing to comply with their licence conditions.

Finally, an arrest was made for failing to comply with a court order.

Each of these arrests demonstrates the team’s swift and determined action in holding offenders to account and protecting the public.

Alongside enforcement, officers also took time to strengthen community relationships. The team hosted a meet-and-greet session with the local MP, highlighting partnership working and our shared commitment to community safety. A crime prevention stall was set up to raise awareness of the Met Engage platform and provide information on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), ensuring residents know where to turn for support and advice.

Officers also visited a 16+ supported accommodation service, engaging with both staff and residents to build relationships, listen to concerns, and offer reassurance.

This week’s results show both sides of our work – robust enforcement against those who cause harm, and positive engagement with the community to prevent crime and build trust.
