Burglary - Swakeleys Drive - Developments |
||
Crime reference: CAD0517 of 20SEP25This message is an important update to the previous alert relating to a burglary which took place on Friday 19th September on Swakeleys Drive, Ickenham and discovered by the victim returning home in the early hours of Saturday 20th September.
Summary of pertinent details: The burgled property is on the even-number side between Vyners Way and Long Lane, and was entered by a person or persons smashing the rear patio doors. Access was potentially via the side of the adjacent property and then over the adjoining fence. A vehicle would be very likely to have been used by the suspects.
Important Update:A resident has now come forward to report that they were out walking their dog on the Friday evening (19th September). They left their own house in The Grove and walked past the victim's house on their way to Long Lane. As they passed the victim's house at about 7.50pm they noticed that all of the lights were on and they saw a young man in the front bedroom who they did not recognise as a family member of that house. We understand that there was a car outside the house, but at this time we do not have a make, colour or direction that it was facing and this is where your help is required.
Action required please: Residents (particularly those within a half mile radius of the crime scene) are asked please if you can now check your CCTV systems and video doorbells for any vehicle scoping the area between 1930hrs and 2015hrs.
It is really important to understand that with burglaries a property is often targeted because there are no lights on and there is no visible alarm or CCTV system - so the criminals will scope the area looking for such properties, or they may use other indicators such as a seeing a vehicle pulling off a driveway. This means that the burglars in this case may have been scoping properties across our Ward throughout that evening - did your CCTV system capture anything at all that may be of interest? Any information should be passed to the police on 101 or online using the above CAD reference, and it is then very important that you contact your local Neighbourhood Watch team please at ickenhamnhw@gmail.com who are working closely with officers. | ||
