Just after midnight on Monday 15th September, we received a report that a moped had been stolen from Nunnery Lane car park, York city centre.
North Yorkshire officers were dispatched immediately and the moped was recovered a short distance away. Two 16-year-old males were located nearby and subsequently arrested for theft of a motor vehicle.
Further evidence was located following a search of one of the males and he was further arrested for going equipped for theft.
Both suspects were questioned and released on conditional bail whilst our enquiries continue.
