Rain Can’t Dampen Spirits: Three Arrested in Piccadilly Gardens Palaver |
||
Despite the wet and dreary weather, the Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team remained active today, patrolling the area and responding swiftly to disorder. Officers arrested three individuals under the Public Order Act.
All three offenders have been dealt with: some have been charged and bailed with conditions not to return to Piccadilly Gardens, while others have been remanded in custody to appear before the courts on Monday morning.
Speaking about the arrests, Sergeant Jon Wyatt of the Piccadilly Gardens Policing Team said: “One of the offenders arrested today was identified following a recent Teams meeting I held with local businesses. A local restaurant had reported suffering financial losses due to persistent anti-social behaviour from certain individuals. I’m pleased to say one of those offenders has now been arrested. We said we would act on what businesses told us, and we meant it. We won’t stand for this kind of palaver in Piccadilly Gardens – police will continue to target those responsible for ASB that affects the lives of local people and businesses.”
The Neighbourhood Policing Team continue to encourage businesses to engage with them directly. Monthly business meetings provide updates, a forum for concerns, and the opportunity to work together to make Piccadilly Gardens a safer, more welcoming place.
