Westcotes Neighbourhood Weekly Update
Operation Pedal Fast – Joint Patrols with West Beats
This week, our officers worked alongside our colleagues from neighbouring West Beats as part of Operation Pedal Fast, a proactive initiative targeting cycle-related crime and anti-social behaviour. Officers conducted high-visibility foot and cycle patrols across the area, engaging with residents, addressing suspicious activity, and disrupting potential criminal activity.
Cannabis Grow Dismantled A cannabis cultivation site was in Westcotes following intelligence-led policing. This illegal grows present significant risks, including fire hazards, exploitation concerns, and links to organised crime.
Patch Walk with Partner Agencies
Officers conducted a patch walk in partnership with local agencies. These walks are a vital tool for: Identifying anti-social behaviour hotspots. Supporting vulnerable residents. Monitoring environmental issues such as litter, fly-tipping, or maintenance concerns. Ensuring collaborative problem-solving between agencies for long-term solutions.
Bede Park Hotspot Patrols Continue Our targeted hotspot patrols in Bede Park remain ongoing. Officers have maintained a consistent presence in response to reports of anti-social behaviour and nuisance activity. These patrols aim to reassure the community, deter criminal activity, and ensure the park is safe and welcoming for families, children, and all residents.
Arrests Made on Warrants During the past week, officers arrested several people wanted on warrant in Westcotes. These actions demonstrate our ongoing commitment to bringing offenders to justice, particularly those wanted for serious offences. Each arrest is part of our wider effort to reduce crime, disrupt criminal networks, and maintain public safety.
Keep Safe Westcotes
