Burglary awareness

Dear resident,

Two burglaries have been reported in your neighbourhood.

Please stay vigilant and report anything you deem suspicious.

Reference: 20/379932/25 
Location: Old Lode Lane.
Date and time: Between 12pm and 2pm on 17th September.
Details: offenders forced entry via the front door and searched in all rooms taking jewelry, watches and cash before making off.

Reference: 20/381032/25
Location: Beechnut Lane.
Date and time: Between 12pm and 2pm on 18th September.
Details: Two Unknown offenders gained entry by smashing the rear window of the property. The offenders got spooked by the house alarm and made off in a black Volkswagen Golf MK4.

Where possible please make sure house alarms are set when the property is vacant or when you go to bed and decent motion activated lighting and CCTV cameras are set up at the front and rear of your property. Installing anti-snap locks at the front and rear of your house will also reduce the chance of your house being targeted. 

A steering wheel lock is a great deterrent against this kind of crime. Car alarms, immobilisers and trackers are also worth investing in. Good quality CCTV equipment covering your driveway is also a deterrent and can give officers valuable footage to assist with apprehending thieves.
