I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Good afternoon,
A big thank you to you all. People in the community are key to the police fighting crime. If it was not for you all raising your concerns, we would not have had such a strong case. Please encourage anyone you know to report to police anything in the community that does not seem right. We Safer neighborhoods Colville ward, are committed to sending out a message that we are driving out crime and our priority is safeguarding our residents, visitors, and businesses.
I went to Westminster Magistrates court this morning and a full closure order was granted today closing a flat in Powis Square, W11 concerned in serious crime and anti-social behaviour.
We your local police did this on the back of receiving an anti-social behaviour report that the glass panel had been smashed to the front door. From speaking with people on the back of this, we were able to gather intelligence to present to court.
The court was satisfied on three counts they only need one to grant a closure order.
The court agreed:
(a) a person has engaged, or (if the order is not made) is likely to engage, in disorderly, offensive or criminal behaviour on the premises, or
(b) the use of the premises has resulted, or (if the order is not made) is likely to result, in serious nuisance to members of the public, or
(c) there has been, or (if the order is not made) is likely to be, disorder near those premises associated with the use of those premises,
and that the order is necessary to prevent the behaviour, nuisance or disorder from continuing, recurring or occurring.
Kind regards,
Dawn Baxter | Police Constable | 1437 AW Dedicated Ward Officer (DWO) | Colville Ward
