I wanted to provide you an update regarding Personal theft (e.g. pick pocketing, no violence used), which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Since Monday 15th September we have had 5 Area TSG posted to Westminster to assist us with local crime issues.

Over the last 3 days, the TSG have conducted a number of covert and plain clothes patrols in the West End using specialist behavioural detection training and have so far arrested 6 people for pickpocketing.

We do not underestimate the impact that pickpocketing can have on victims and will use all available specialist resources to help us combat the criminals.

Please have awareness if visiting theatres as we have noticed a rise in suspects using the crowds outside theatres to find victims.
