I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

As part of Spiking Intensification week officers were deployed last night on a pro-active Taxi-Touting Operation focussed around our Student Union's.

A number of vehicles were stopped with drivers and vehicles details being checked to ensure that they were complying with the law and safeguarding regulations.

One driver was found to have altered his registration and his details were sought for a number of speeding offences, checks revealed he already has 9 penalty points and he now has the same number heading his way.

Remember if it isn't a hackney carriage and you haven't pre-booked it, its just a strangers car you are getting into.
