||
We have charged a 17-year-old boy as part of our investigation into a knifepoint robbery at a shop in Heath Hayes.
The teenager from Heath Hayes, who cannot be named for legal reasons because of his age, has been charged with robbery and threatening a person with a bladed article in a private place.
It comes after a robbery at the Original Dessert Shop on Hednesford Road at about 10.30pm on Sunday (14 September).
A quantity of cash was taken during the incident.
One shop worker suffered a minor cut to her finger but no one else was injured.
The boy appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday (Wednesday 17 September) and pleaded not guilty to both offences. He has been bailed conditionally ahead of his trial date set at Cannock Magistrates’ Court on 11 November.
Officers in Staffordshire are working proactively to tackle burglary, theft and robbery. We were able to reduce the total amount of related crimes in 2024, when compared to 2023.
