Silhill WMnow Update |
||
Good afternoon everyone, Crime Update: Two would be vehicle thieves were stopped on Thornby Avenue in the early hours of Tuesday the 9th of September when they have been disturbed while cutting through the steering lock protecting a BMW 130I M Sport. The offenders forced open the door but due to steering lock couldn’t steal the car and instead made off. On the evening of Tuesday the 9th of September an attempted theft from a parking meter and vending machine has taken place at Solihull Hospital where an unknown male has used a set of keys to try and open machines on site to steal cash. He was stopped by security and fled from the scene. We are working with the security on site and encourage everyone to report any suspicious persons attempting to tamper with machines on site to police and site security. Good News: The team arrested a suspect in relation to a high value fraud and theft to assist detectives in Coventry. The suspect received an early morning wakeup from the team he wasn’t expecting. We were very thankful for the opportunity to hold a crime prevention drop in session outside Solihull Central Masjid and Community Centre on Warwick Road this past Friday. I would like to the thank our hosts and everyone from the local community who dropped by for your time and support. We were made aware of some concerns raised by local residents about parking in the area on Friday’s and have already raised this directly with the Council and will be working with organisers to address this jointly as we have done, and continue to do. elsewhere. Officers from the team took part in a recent exercise at the NEC over the weekend which involved the Ambulance Service, The Fire Brigade, The RAF and a number of other agencies to continue to develop and build on our joint working abilities and sharpen our skills should a major incident take place. I hope everyone has a safe week ahead and I look forward to getting in touch again soon. | ||
