Partnership working - Covent Garden retail theft deployment

Dear resident,

On Monday your Safer Neighbourhoods team, alongside Westminster City Council, the Safer Business Network and Covent Garden security officers conducted a joint retail theft deployment. It was a busy start to the week with the following results gained:

- One community resolution was issued for possession of cannabis.

- Police conducted a stop and search.

- Three satisfactory e-bike stops.

- Two individuals from the street population were given verbal warnings for begging.

- We successfully deterred two known shoplifters from committing offences.

In addition officers engaged with retail staff and security officers in an ongoing effort to deter criminality and build up evidence to act on repeat offenders in the area. 

Thanks to all who came along and thanks also to My Local Bobby and police colleagues who made two arrests in recent days for CBO breaches in the footprint.
