Speeding into trouble? Not on our watch....

Officers from the Central Neighbourhood Team have been out over the weekend performing speed checks after reports from local residents about drivers using the roads in the local area like a race track.

This is part of the Fatal Four, which is currently a force priority for road safety. Over the weekend we handed out 5 traffic offence reports, one driver who was caught at 43mph in a 20mph zone will also be getting summonsed to court, due to already having 6 points for speeding on their license.

The Fatal 4 consists of – speeding, drink driving, not wearing a seatbelt and using a mobile phone.

We are committed to keeping the roads safe, for all road users and pedestrians, and will continue to take action on this.
