Community Safety Notice - Bike Thefts

Dear King's Cross Residents,

We have seen a recent increase in reports of bike thefts in the area. Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is aware and carrying out patrols, as well as posting warning leaflets in hotspot areas.

We encourage everyone to take extra steps to keep bikes secure:

Always lock your bike with a strong D-lock or chain, securing both the frame and wheels.

Use designated bike racks where possible and avoid leaving bikes in poorly lit or isolated areas.

Register your bike on the bike register database ( www.bikeregister.com) - this helps police return stolen bikes when recovered.

Consider using additional security such as wheel and seat post locks.

If you see any suspicious behaviour, please report it immediately via 101, online at www.met.police.uk, or 999 in an emergency.

Together we can help reduce thefts and keep our community safer.
