We have recieved a few reports of doorstep scams across Penkridge over recent days,  targeting elderly and vulnerable residents, whereby they are claiming your roof is in need of repair. 

Enquires are underway to establish those responsible, However, we can stay one step ahead 👇

🚪 If someone knocks offering work:

• Don’t agree to anything on the spot• Never hand over cash or go to the bank with them• Say “No thank you” and close the door

⚠️ Red flags to watch for:

• No ID or paperwork• Pressure tactics like “your roof is unsafe”• Asking for large deposits• Refusing to leave when asked

✅ Safer steps:

• Use trusted directories like Buy With Confidence• Ask family or neighbours for recommendations• Take your time — real professionals won’t rush you
