Community Engagement with local students
The Safer Neighbourhood Team visited Pershore High School yesterday to attend the youth council meeting and introduce our new Sergeant who had the pleasure of issuing one of the students that was elected as Youth Mayor with her medal. We attend these meetings each month to engage with them and discuss any concerns they may have in and around the town of Pershore and what we are doing to tackle it. It is really important that young people have a voice and are confident in reporting or talking to us about things that they are worried about as well as things that include our engagement with them in and out of school or college. It is only by building these relationships with young people that they have an understanding of what our role is within the Safer Neighbourhood Team. It is always a pleasure to meet with them and have a chat and see what sort of things they want to try and improve in the area such as litter picking, lighting in certain areas, public transport and so on which is what the local council can do to help.
Kind Regards
PCSO Bex Ashley
