Theft from Motor Vehicle, Randalls Ride, Hemel Hempstead,

Dear Resident

Between 09/09/2025 22:00 to 10/09/2025 07:30 a theft from a vehicle occurred in Randalls Ride, Hemel Hempstead,

Offender has approached the victim’s vehicle which had been parked, locked and unattended on the driveway of the victim’s home address. Offender has gained entry to the vehicle by unknown means and stolen a jacket , wallet and a bag containing ID documents such as V5, taxi licence and tax paperwork.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
