Longford Updates |
||
Dear Residents and Local Businesses,
Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:
PATROLS Officers have been carrying out patrols of the Longford areas on foot and in vehicles. We have been paying particular attention to locations that have recently experienced an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour.
BURGLARY We have had one burglary this week in the Longford area.
A residential property was broken into on Purcell Road. This occurred between 14:00 and 17:00 on 06/09/2025 where entry was gained and some jewellery and electrical items were taken from within. If you heard or saw anything that may be suspicious, please contact us on 101 quoting 20/368382/25.
We will continue to pay some passing attention for reassurance to residents.

VEHICLE CRIME We are continuing to see vehicle crime in the Longford area. We have had two theft of motor vehicle and three thefts from vehicles.
The theft of motor vehicle occurred on Riley Square between 14:00 and 14:30 on 05/09/2025 where a moped was parked up stolen without keys. If you have heard or seen anything, please contact us on 101 referencing 20/367141/25.
The second theft of motor vehicle occurred on Almond Tree Avenue between 03:30-03:40 on 06/09/2025 where a Ford Kuga was stolen without keys. If you have heard or seen anything, please contact us on 101 referencing 20/367815/25.
There has also been an increase in keyless vehicles being stolen alongside vehicles being broken into and tools stolen from within. We recommend that owners of these vehicles use a steering wheel lock to prevent against theft and to remove any tools from their vehicles when the vehicle is not in use.
