We’re pleased to announce that Barton Neighbourhood Policing Team has organised a community engagement event
Community Safety Event – Free Bike Registration at Basygarth Park The Barton Neighbourhood Policing Team is pleased to invite residents to a community safety event focused on bicycle security. This will take place on Sunday 21st September at Basygarth Park. At the event, we will be offering free bike registration through BikeRegister, the UK’s national bicycle marking and registration scheme. This initiative is supported by police forces across the country and is designed to help deter theft and assist in the recovery of stolen bikes. Why Register Your Bike?Registering your bicycle with BikeRegister provides several key benefits: Theft Deterrence: Marked bikes are less attractive to thieves, as they are harder to sell and easier to trace. Police Recovery: If your bike is stolen, registration increases the likelihood that it can be identified and returned to you. Ownership Proof: Registration acts as a record of ownership, which is useful when reporting theft or verifying second-hand purchases. Community Safety: Widespread registration helps reduce bike theft in the area and supports police investigations. Event DetailsDate: Sunday 21st September Location: Basygarth Park, Barton Time: 11:00-13:00 Cost: Free of charge What to Bring: Your bicycle – no booking required This is a great opportunity to meet your local officers, learn more about crime prevention, and take proactive steps to protect your property.
