PC Hewes visited Age UK's Sheppey Branch this morning as part of their Emergency Services Day Event. As you can see the centre was well attended and the service users were educated on the most common Scams and Frauds and advised on how to reduce the risk of being a victim. They were also provided with leaflets and items such as money tins, card blockers and window stickers to help protect themselves falling foul of unscrupulous visitors to their homes. They were also given the chance to raise any concerns or ask  for crime prevention advice in the areas they live, or just have a general chat with PC Hewes. 

A very worthwhile engagement, giving people who may not usually have the opportunity to engage with Police a chance to speak to a local officer, whilst at the same time offering a level of safeguarding to a vulnerable group within the community.
