We have received a recent report of an individual in the local area attempting to gain access to vehicles by trying car door handles. We are reminding all vehicle owners to remain vigilant and to ensure their cars are locked and secure at all times.

Please take the following steps to reduce the risk of opportunistic theft:

• Always lock your vehicle, even when parked outside your home.

• Do not leave valuables on display.

• Where possible, use additional security measures such as steering locks or alarms.

If you witness any suspicious behaviour, please report it immediately via 101 (non-emergency) or 999 in an emergency.
