Gardens Clean-Up: Six Weeds Pulled Out by Police

The Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team has made six arrests as part of ongoing efforts to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour in the city centre today.

Officers detained offenders for a range of offences, including theft, public order offences, breach of bail, obstructing police, breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), and threats to cause damage.

Two of those arrested have since been charged and bailed with strict conditions preventing them from entering Piccadilly Gardens. The remaining four individuals are currently in custody while investigations continue.

Sergeant Jon Wyatt of the Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team said:

“We are working hard every day to remove persistent offenders from the area. We know the issues affecting Piccadilly Gardens will not be solved overnight, but we will continue to chip away at the problem little by little.”

The team has pledged to maintain a visible presence in Piccadilly Gardens and to take robust action against those who commit offences, ensuring the space remains safer for the community.
