Axminster Carnival: Saturday 20th September 2025

It's carnival season and AXMINSTER CARNIVAL takes place on SATURDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER 2025 with the procession starting at approximately 8pm.

The carnival is a family event that brings locals and visitors to the town every year and every year the majority of people enjoy the event with no issues. However, there can be a small minority of people that can disrupt the evening and become involved in anti social behaviour.

For that reason a SECTION 35 DISPERSAL ORDER will be in place from 3pm until 2am the following morning. This gives police extra powers to combat anti social behaviour, such as being able to disperse people and seize items linked to anti social behaviour.

You will likely see extra officers in AXMINSTER on the evening of the carnival. This will be a mix of plain clothes and uniformed officers and this is to keep everyone safe during this family event.

Road closures will be in place while the carnival takes place so allow plenty of extra travel time.
