Please be aware of that Operation VROOM is now active in North Wales Police. This is a dedicated initiative tackling the growing issue of electric bikes and scooters being ridden dangerously and anti-socially across our areas. E-Bikes and Electric scooters are NOT toys. When used illegally, they are a danger to the public and a criminal offence. I have issued warnings to many users of these over the last few months. Now, action is being taken. They can, and will, be seized from users if they are being ridden in a public place. If seized, it is likely to be destroyed. I do understand that there are several schools of thought around this subject, but the law as it stands means they are illegal to be used in a public place. They can be used on private land with the permission of the landowner. If you feel this is wrong, then be aware that politicians make the law – not the police!
