Please make sure your sheds are locked and bicycles are chained or secured together. The thief is using the tools from unlocked sheds to break into locked sheds and then garden hoping. There are no reports of sheds being broken into as from the 17/08/25 09/09/25 on Blythe. Ongoing patrols are continuing. Thank you to the residents who are helping Police with their investigations. If you see a vehicle in your area that you don’t recognise, please contact Police on 101 or use the West Midlands Police web site to make enquiries. The location of new vehicle deposition sites are of interest to us. Please make sure your vehicles are locked. Other parts of Solihull are being hit with theft from unlocked vehicles. Please fit a steering lock as an extra layer of security to protect your keyless entry vehicle. Relay scanning devices are being used. Please set your alarm if fitted. Leave lights on or use light timers. Never leave your house in darkness. Please use anti-tamper screws available from most vehicle spares shops to secure your number plates securely to your vehicle. If you are considering extra security measures for your property and vehicles, ensure that all products installed are of a British Standard or Secured by Design. For more information on security products please see the following site:
Any images should be recorded onto a secure system and be held for a minimum of 31 days. For more information on choosing a CCTV supplier please see the following link: Ensure that all shrubs and hedges do NOT encroach the maximum height of 1m and Tree canopies are lifted to 1.8m. This allows for maximum natural surveillance. Ensure that all fences are the same height as smaller fencing abutting higher fencing acts as a potential climbing aid for offenders. Ensure that all garden furniture is stored away in a garden shed along with any tools to avoid aiding offenders in committing burglary. Ensure that Wheelie Bins are not stored near to fences and are chained together to prevent them from being used as climbing aids or storing objects in that may aid an offender to commit a crime.
Kind Regards, Roland Tabb PCSO 30966 St. Alphege NPT. | ||
