Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch Event
The Hadfield Community Speed Watch Volunteers completed a Speed Watch held on the A626 Marple Road, Chisworth - between 2.55 pm and 3.55 pm today Monday 8th September.
A total of 339 vehicles were recorded driving by the team during our event this afternoon - and today 12 vehicles were recorded driving over 36 mph - The speed limit on this stretch of road is 30 mph.
A big thank you from the Safer Neighbourhood Policing team to our 2 volunteers who completed the event this afternoon.
The term "Fatal Four" most commonly refers to the four primary behaviors that cause deaths and serious injuries on roads: speeding, drink or drug driving, using a mobile phone while driving, and not wearing a seatbelt.
1. Inappropriate speed Even the difference of a few miles per hour can mean the difference between life and death. The speed limit is not a target, you should drive at a speed that suits the conditions and the type of road. For example, if it’s foggy or raining, if you’re driving near a school or in a town centre, then driving at the speed limit could be too fast. Try to make sure that you’re driving at a safe speed at all times, and never exceed the speed limit.
