I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Rubbish/ litter, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. 🚨 Leyland NPT update 🚨
Recent surveys have told us that littering is a key concern for residents across South Ribble. We've listened and last weekend, officers from Leyland NPT joined forces with Brig's Litter Team, Wade Hall Litter Pick Heroes and Jazzy the Westie 🐶 to tackle the streets . Together, we collected rubbish from hotspots highlighted by the public h to make it a cleaner, safer and more welcoming space for everyone.
A big thank you to everyone who gave up their time to get involved - it really does make a difference.

 Here are five reasons why we should not litter: Impact on Wildlife: Litter can harm animals by trapping or poisoning them, and it can also kill aquatic life through choking and water quality degradation. Costs of Cleaning Up: Littering incurs significant cleanup costs, which can burden local governments and taxpayers. Human Health and Safety: Litter can pose health risks, creating hazards in public spaces and potentially leading to injuries. Environmental Contamination: Litter can contaminate soil and water, leading to long-term environmental damage. Aesthetic Appeal: Litter detracts from the beauty of our surroundings, affecting community pride and tourism.
