Local Priorities Nuisance motorbikes Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Nuisance motorbikes, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

We are aware of concerns regarding off road motorbikes being ridden on the roads in the area. With concerns also that at times the riders are not wearing appropriate safety attire such as helmets.
We are conducting regular patrols in the area and will deal robustly with any persons identified to be riding on the roads without correct documentation and those riding unsafely.
It is imperative that we keep our communities safe. Please continue to assist us in ensuring this by reporting any sightings to us.

Tackling antisocial behaviour can be a complex issue, and one which requires input and action from more than just the police.

February 2025 saw the publication of the Ministry of Justice Crime and Policing Bill: Antisocial behaviour (ASB) factsheet. This outlined a number of new measures including making powers to seize vehicles under section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 easier to use, allowing the police to react robustly and immediately to the anti-social use of motor vehicles.
