Stoke & Wyken Neighbourhood team - Greetings |
||
Dear Residents and Local Businesses, here are a few things we have planned this week: This week Officers will be actively engaging in arrest attempts for outstanding offenders, some of which include prolific shoplifters around our problematic retail crime areas, these include the Warwickshire Retail Park and other smaller shops within the Stoke & Wyken area. We will also be conducting Speedwatch operations, both enforced and community lead on a number of different roads within the area, as always these are not publicly advertised and will be sporadic and random in nature, unless pre-arranged via the community in the non enforceable Community Speedwatch. If you are interested in getting involved, please read the guidance below and get in touch. • Community Speedwatch (CSW) is a community driven road safety initiative which empowers community volunteers to address their concerns around inappropriate traffic speed around their residence/place of work with the support of WMP. • CSW will involve trained volunteers using approved speed detection devices resulting in one of two outcomes: • 1 – The vehicle will be stopped by a police officer and a roadside intervention will be delivered by attending partners. • 2 – A notice will be sent to the driver/registered keeper encouraging them to reduce their speed in future. • WMP will support volunteers with relevant training and advice to ensure the sessions are delivered safely. • Community members wishing to sign up to the WMP CSW will be required to follow the guidance provided to them or support will be withdrawn. Dependant on weather, Officers will also be continuing cycle patrols in our green spaces, we have gathered a lot of interest regarding illegal fishing and rare animal sightings over the last few weeks, you our community continue to show interest in such updates, so we will continue to provide a small update to any relevant or important updates which may garner interest to wildlife photographers and or conversationalists. If Birdwatching is something that interests you, please visit Coventry Birdwatching Site - BirdGuides and get in touch with your local birdwatching location. 📞 How to Contact Us or Report Information 📞 Non-Emergency: 101 Emergency: 999 / 112 (if crime in progress or immediate danger) Report Online: West Midlands Police Anonymous Reporting: Crimestoppers Kind Regards, The Stoke & Wyken Neighbourhood Policing Team | ||
