||||||||||||
Welcome to the monthly update for the residents and communities of the Birstall & Wanlip Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.
The community have stated that ASB is a concern within the Birstall ward.
Following concerns raised by the community regarding anti-social behaviour (ASB) within the Birstall ward, targeted patrols have been conducted in key areas. Officers have carried out patrols at Leicester North Services in response to reports of ASB, and have engaged with youths on Sibson Road following incidents involving e-scooters and disruptive behaviour. Additional patrols have also taken place at Meadow Lane and School Lane playing fields to provide reassurance and deter further ASB.
Road safety continues to be a key concern raised by our community, particularly around issues of speeding and inconsiderate parking near schools.
Road safety remains a key concern raised by the community, particularly in relation to speeding and inconsiderate parking near schools. Officers have conducted patrols outside Highcliffe and Riverside Primary Schools, engaging with motorists and offering advice to improve parking behaviour. Liaison has also taken place with all local schools to support ongoing efforts. Patrols have been carried out on Greengate Lane to monitor traffic and address speeding concerns, with plans in place to conduct dedicated speed operations on Greengate Lane and Wanlip Lane in the coming month. High-visibility patrols will continue to provide reassurance and promote safer driving.
There has been an increase in Residential burglaries in the last 4 weeks.
In response to a recent increase in residential burglaries over the past four weeks, tackling burglary has now been identified as a new priority for the beat team. Officers have conducted targeted patrols in areas affected by these incidents and will continue to do so to provide reassurance and deter further offences. Additional high-visibility patrols have also been carried out throughout the village to engage with residents and offer crime prevention advice.
