Local Priorities Theft - shoplifting Update

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Theft - shoplifting, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Officers from Ashford CSU were deployed into the Town Centre, Ashford Designer Outlet and Sevington Retail Park yesterday to tackle the war on Theft Shoplifting. Officers were in both plain clothes and uniform, spending time in each of the above areas to try and proactively identify those that have been repeatedly targeting our retail outlets as well as show support to retailers themselves

During this time, we had no reports of Theft made, but we worked closely with Security at the respective locations to tackle a handful of reports relating to Anti-Social Behaviour and even seized an E-Scooter.
