Test of the Emergency Alerts system |
||
Dear Resident
The UK government will be carrying out a national test of the Emergency Alerts system this Sunday at 3pm. Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate. The Emergency Alerts system is used to warn if there’s a danger to life nearby, including extreme weather and severe flooding. Like all counties, Hertfordshire residents and businesses face these and other potential risks, which is why Hertfordshire Local Resilience Forum* (HLRF) has launched a webpage to help make people aware of the risks we face and offer practical advice to help them prepare.
Visit https://orlo.uk/Y22oA for information on things you can do to be ready. *HLRF is a partnership of over 60 organisations which plan and train together to provide the quickest and most effective response to incidents and emergencies. | ||
