CAR CRIME ALERT MESSAGE ⚠️

Good afternoon,

Welcome to our new users of Derbyshire Alert.

We have had more reports overnight in regards to vehicles getting stolen off driveways or offenders entering insecure vehicles and stealing items.

Areas including:-

Linton Heath, Linton

Moira Road, Overseal 

Hunts Lane, Netherseal 

Wolfscote Dale, Church Gresley 

Edinburgh Road, Church Gresley

Two of the stolen vehicles have been recovered.

A kindly reminder asking that please be vigilant, please do not leave any of your possessions in vehicles. Make sure you lock your vehicle and house up securely, and also keep all keys away from front doors.

A member of public reported a suspicious incident this afternoon whereby an offender was changing number plates on his own vehicle, which then an hour later, led to an arrest in a different County.

I am organising an event on Thursday 11th of September at Rosliston village hall carpark from 5-7pm with Safer Homes who will be making car number plates secure using anti-vandal screws. Crime prevention advice plus bike marking also will be taking place, all a free service.

Another reminder will be sent at the beginning of next week.
