Mopeds - Layfield Road / Brent Park Road, NW4

Good evening,

Over the past few weeks we have received many complaints of anti-social behaviour (ASB) caused by moped delivery drivers on Layfield Road and Brent Park Road, NW4. This included reports of delivery drivers using Brent Park Road as an unofficial form up area while awaiting their next delivery request and causing anti-social behaviour by way of loitering, littering, noise, urination and even defecation!

On Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th September, your local police team attended the location, with Barnet Council Community Safety Team, and conducted a vehicle check point:

22 mopeds and 2 cars were stopped and all driver/rider/vehicle documents inspected,

4 mopeds were seized for not having valid insurance,

4 individuals were arrested (3 for immigration offences, 1 for failing to appear at Court),

2 cars were searched by police under the Misuse of Drugs Act,

6 delivery riders received ASB warnings in relation to their presence/behaviour on Brent Park Road,

The council replaced the controlled parking zone signage which had been graffitied over.

I hope this action goes on to have some impact on the ASB being caused in the area by these moped riders.

We will continue to conduct patrols in the area and local residents should continue to report any further new or recurring issues.
