Two people arrested following assaults in Walton-on-Thames |
||
We are writing to you following an increased police presence in Walton-on-Thames today (5 September). Shortly after 10pm last night, officers responded to a report of an assault on Bridge Road where a man sustained serious injuries. While officers were on scene, we received a second report of an assault on Church Walk where another man had sustained injuries. Both victims are recovering and did not suffer life-threatening injuries. Specialist police teams responded quickly to both incidents, which we can confirm were linked. This resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old man from Walton-on-Thames. Today, a second man, aged 26 from Sutton, has also been arrested in connection with the assaults. Borough Commander Inspector Chris Thoday said: “We had a significant number of officers in the area last night, including armed units and the police helicopter, which I understand will have caused concern within our community. There will be a continued police presence today while we carry out our investigation. “We will share a further update about this investigation when we can, and I encourage anyone with information to please contact us quoting PR/45250108798. If you have any concerns, please speak to our officers in the area.” To contact us about this incident, please use our webform on the website or call 101. https://www.surrey.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/ | ||
