Good morning Calderdale

We have had a number of offences in the rural areas of Calderdale where ATV's and motorbikes have been targeted. These have been targeted from rural locations such as farms and homes isolated on country roads with unconnected buildings where the vehicles are kept.

If you live in a rural area, please take some extra measures to protect your valuables that are situated in these outbuildings. Make sure these areas are well lit and under CCTV surveillance where possible. Talk to your neighbours about making a neighbourhood watch and chat groups where you can discuss any suspicious behaviour and crime prevention methods you can share.

Review the vehicle information and log this somewhere safe, such as VIN numbers and chassis numbers. Look into getting a tracker that can be placed on the vehicles. Should they be stolen, this increases the chance of them being recovered and leads towards a higher chance prosecution.
