Dispersal Zone in Place for Vauxhall

To tackle ongoing anti-social behaviour and crime in Vauxhall and surrounding areas, I have authorised a  dispersal zone for the area of Vauxhall to cover this weekend. This is in response to continuing reports from the local community about crime involving groups congregating outside of licenced premises and targeting customers leaving in order to steal from them.

The dispersal zone is active from 02:00 Saturday 6th September, until Sunday the 7th September at 12:00.

This gives police the power to disperse individuals who are causing or are likely to cause ASB and failing to dispersal or returning once dispersed is an offence.

We have also managed to obtain funding to provide additional police resources to conduct uniformed patrols of the area at key times.
