A reminder for all regarding our forthcoming (online) BT awareness sessions online for our volunteer coordinators on. The session will be run twice to provide the maximum opportunity for everyone to attend.

This will be an opportunity for you to learn more about the National Telecare and BT Connected-Together Campaigns and how you can better help support friends, family and neighbours in advance of the national move from analogue to digital landlines. It will also be an opportunity for you to meet the NWS team.

The ‘National Telecare’ campaign relates to customers that use a telecare device such as personal alarms, pendant alarms, lifeline devices and home care monitoring systems. It is important that they take action to ensure that their equipment is compatible with the new digital technology. While many modern telecare systems are designed to work with both traditional and digital landlines, older models may require upgrades or replacements. Users should be encouraged to contact their landline provider for support as soon as possible. Further information is available at:

Digital Phone Switchover

The BT Connected-Together campaign encourages friends, family, colleagues, neighbours to help support vulnerable members of the community through the switch and helping them to understand why it is happening, and how to prepare. The BT website can be found here:

Anyone who needs extra support to make the switch to Digital Voice, should register for this using the BT webform. An engineer will then be made available to assist them with transition. The BT guide is available here:
