Incident update

Good afternoon,

We wanted to let you know about an incident which happened in your area on Sunday.

We were called by the North West Ambulance Service at around 7pm to Shakespeare Road, Preston following reports of an assault.

Our officers attended the area and found that a man in his 30s had suffered a laceration to his arm. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and to update you, he has been charged with section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a knife. A 41-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders has been released without charge.

We understand that incidents like this can cause distress with those living in the area but we want to reassure you that this was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public.

Our officers will continue to carry out their usual reassurance patrols in the area so please do speak to them if you have any concerns.
