Emergency Alert

Dear Residents, 

On Sunday, 7 September, the Emergency Alert system will be tested at 3pm. It was created by the government to warn people when their lives are in danger. 

In an emergency, such as severe flooding, fires and extreme weather, an alert will sound on a mobile phone or tablet with advice about staying safe. The device will make a loud siren-like sound, even when set to silent, vibrate or read out the alert. This will last for around 10 seconds.
