Incident in Mitcham - Thursday 4th September

Good afternoon All,

You may be aware that there was an incident today in Mitcham town centre, which led to a number of Police Officers and colleagues from the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attending Sadler Close, Mitcham.

This incident related to an adult male who was wanted by the Courts for Theft related offences who made off from Police and made his way to the roof of a large residential block of flats. Officers have quickly established a containment in the area and after some protracted enquiries, the male was detained and arrested. Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this incident.

The male concerned is now in Police custody.

This was a fine example of proactive Policing in the area, locating and arresting a prolific offender.
