Chiswick Update |
||
Just a quick update from Chiswick NPT-
We have seen a reduction in criminal activity over August following a spike in July. We have been conducting high visibility and plain clothes Operations all over Chiswick targeting Burglaries, Motor Vehicle crime, Shoplifting and Drugs. These will be continuing as we target priority crimes.
Some recent incidents of note - The male arrested by PC Storey at the start of August for Sexual assault and outraging public decency has been charged and remanded to prison.
A prolific female shoplifter who was wanted on recall to prison was spotted, arrested and returned to prison.
A well known to male in the Gunnersbury area was identified via CCTV for an Arson incident in another area of London. PCSO Andrade spotted the male on the High Road and gave chase, guiding in units to arrest him. The male has been charged with Arson with intent to endanger life and remanded to prison. This male has caused significant concerns to residents over the years and I am hopeful that we will not be seeing him for a considerable time.
Whilst conducting plain clothes patrols in a covert vehicle we responded to a call for a male breaking into a vehicle. We detained the male and he was arrested for Criminal damage to motor vehicle X2, Going equipped to steal and a public order offence.
We have been speaking to some of the shops on the High Road and viewing their CCTV have identified three individuals involved in high value thefts. We will be progressing cases against all of them and looking to get Criminal Behaviour Orders to deter their offending.
We attended an address on Riverside with Peabody housing that had been taken over by a squatter. Entry was forced and the premises secured and returned to the housing association.
Please keep encouraging your neighbours and communities to sign up to Met Engage.
Many thanks
