SHOPLIFTING TRIO CHARGED FOR 63 OFFENCES AFTER STORE TARGETTED DAILY BY THIEVES

Local Lewisham officers have had success in catching a trio of shoplifters who have been targeting a store in the Lewisham area.

It has been described by the staff that the 3 thieves would enter the shop daily. This had lead to staff being scared to attend work after the daily conflicts with violent thieves. Officers from Lewisham re-assured staff and launched an investigation to catch the thieves. After the hard work of the policing team, 63 offences were collated.

A spokesperson on the team stated "The times and days of the offending had no pattern to them which proved difficult to catch the suspects in the act"

After some luck, officers were able to identify all 3 suspects as well as home addresses for these offences. One suspect was gate arrested from a local south east prison where they had served time for a separate offence. The other 2 suspects were arrested at their homes.

63 Theft charges were made with all 3 suspects being remanded in custody to appear before the courts.
