Penn and Merry Hill Crime Update |

Dear Residents,
Please find below a summary of crimes reported in the Penn and Merry Hill areas during the period 11th August – 3rd September 2025.
Merry Hill Woodland Road – 20/08/25 at 01:54 Four males on two electric scooters, wearing balaclavas, entered a driveway and attempted to open car doors before leaving the location.
Penn Theft from Motor Vehicle Fancourt Avenue – between 20/08/25 at 22:30 and 21/08/25 at 07:55 Offender gained entry to a locked silver Toyota Hilux parked on the street. Items stolen included £4 in loose change and bank cards.
Theft of Motor Vehicle Coalway Road – between 26/08/25 at 21:00 and 27/08/25 at 04:00 A grey Nissan Qashqai was stolen from a secure location. The vehicle was later recovered by police.
Brenton Road – between 27/08/25 at 20:00 and 28/08/25 at 10:32 A silver Toyota C-HR was stolen from a driveway. Offenders are believed to have used a relay system and removed the tracker before taking the vehicle.
Fancourt Avenue – between 28/08/25 at 11:00 and 29/08/25 at 01:44 A Land Rover Discovery was stolen from outside the property. Broken glass was found at the scene, suggesting entry was gained by smashing a window.
Police Action
All reported crimes are currently under investigation. House-to-house enquiries have been carried out, and officers have been conducting increased patrols in the affected areas to deter further offences and reassure the community.

Keep keys away from doors and windows to prevent relay thefts.
Consider using a steering wheel lock or tracker.
